11162514_887742371299152_1450963724855257129_nWhile I was vacationing / working in Hawaii, Thad and I took a “breathwork” certification class. Breathwork is a state of altering your breathing for an extended period which puts you into an altered state of consciousness. A certified coach paces your breathing, and guides you through the entire process. It is highly effective in helping people release past trauma, even as far back as the birth experience. Some people see colors and shapes, some “hallucinate,” while others are able to connect to their subconscious on a deep level.

In class, we had to go through the process multiple times and it was incredible! During one of my very powerful sessions, a friend from my past came to visit me! He passed away about 10 years ago, but he stopped in while I was in this altered breathing state just to say hello and to remind me that he is pure joy and love, as they all are on the other side.

During another session, I was reconnected with nightmares that I had as a young child. As a very young person, as far back as I can remember, I had these terrible nightmares. They weren’t of monsters but rather colors and shapes that moved in and out of view… kind of like being stuck inside of a lava lamp! These nightmares haunted me for some time, then they went away, never to return again. Until this breathwork session. During the session, these same scary images came back to me, only they weren’t scary anymore. It’s like they were still stuck in my unconscious, but I released them. And not to get totally nutty on you, but I am under the impression that those dreams that I had, were of my birth experience! How crazy is that?! But it makes sense… at 4 or 5 years old, dreaming of a lava lamp type experience that was scary to me…. what else could it be right?

The entire experience was out of this world. And whether or not I “hallucinated” seeing my friend, or if my lava lamp had nothing to do with my birth… none of that matters. What matters is that the experience was beyond exceptional. I released more emotion than I ever thought possible and afterward, I felt completely new. It was something I will never forget, and the best part is… every time you do it is a new experience! Some people just get a sense of overwhelming peace and relax through the entire thing. I had 2 participants that fell sound asleep and woke refreshed.

I am so excited to be certified so I can share this breathwork experience with my clients. What a gift to be able to help guide people through such a powerful and moving experience! If you would like information about this transformational breathwork experience, please email me at Heather@liveinspirednow.com

Happy September 1st everyone! I just returned from vacation down in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and we all had a great time! While I was there, forcing myself NOT to work, I had some thoughts about parenting. My mother in law made the comment, “I love how affectionate your kids are, and how much they obviously love you and love being around you!” It was a lovely comment and made me feel proud of the hard work that we have done to raise the kids the right. Yes, hard work…. let’s get serious, parenting is NOT easy! It’s not supposed to be easy. When you give your entire heart, and a literal piece of yourself to someone else, you will eventually get hurt, yet we love our kids unconditionally right? Not always!

I have heard many people stating that they “hate” their kids or step kids, and my opinion on this might surprise you. Hating your kids does NOT make you a bad parent. However, doing NOTHING about hating your kids does! Now I am not talking about the normal feelings of frustration that come from being a parent, I am talking about straight up hate. The kind of hate that makes a person go on Facebook to berate, belittle, and bash their own kids. There is something wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with venting, but there is everything wrong with launching a public tirade against those who should be able to trust you to protect them and their innocence.

If you hate your kids, you CAN like them again but it will take EFFORT on your part! YOU have to be the one to make changes, the kids won’t do it. The kids will not actively go to the book store and look up books about family happiness. They will simply turn away from the family, and look for something or something to replace what they are lacking. They will find it, in drugs, promiscuity, gangs, bad choices, and bad behavior. Sure, SOME kids will end up being “OK,” but are you willing to leave your kids future to chance? You want them to visit with grand-babies when they are adults, not excommunicate themselves from you.

Pick up a book, join a parenting group, take some classes, enroll in a workshop, and do whatever it takes to learn how to like your kids again! I personally offer several options like coaching, and my You’re Not My Real Mom eCourse as well. There are countless options for learning how to build better bonds with your children.

Thad and I have personally taken in several children who needed help and support. Not one of those kids are “bad” kids. They just needed support, empathy, and someone with a desire to LEARN how to help them. Each child had different needs, but the common need they ALL had was for love. It’s easier when you know how to do it. Commit to learning how to be a kick ass parent. Spend as much time learning as you can…. there are NO limitations to how much you can learn! You will be amazed how EASY it can be to turn your family life around when you learn and apply new techniques.

So today, please reach out to me, or check out my parenting support if you need help in your family! YOU are the change your family needs!

Please feel free to leave a comment with YOUR thoughts about today’s post!

Be cautious of someone who is really high maintenance yet they have low standard values! These are the type of people who live what I consider a low quality life yet they expect high quality rewards. These might be the people who jump from one relationship to the next and complain that all the men/women they date are “losers.” Or the people who complain that they don’t get paid enough, but they are the employees who spend most of their time trying to get out of doing any work. Or even people who say they want a really fabulous relationship yet they ditch their spouse for their friends, or for Facebook, or for whatever distraction they can find. They might have kids that are making terrible choices, yet they blame the school, television, music, the other parent, etc… yet they never look at how they might be responsible.

Day after day people ask me what they should do about “so and so” who is making their life miserable! It seems as if people are surrounding themselves with these “high maintenance, low standard” people. Let me be the one to say it…. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO INVITE PEOPLE TO LEAVE YOUR LIFE! You are also allowed to make better choices when it comes to friends, and lovers! Don’t compromise your sanity because you don’t want to “hurt someone’s feelings.” If someone is being abusive, neglectful, hurtful, or just a big fat drama queen, you don’t have to tolerate that! The very best way to invite these people to leave your life, is to completely disengage! Don’t get involved. Don’t get sucked in to their drama. Don’t reply to their “emergencies.” Don’t answer their calls, emails, texts, snaps, tweets, PM’s, or IM’s. Just ignore them. You can try to have a civil conversation as well, but let’s face it; if they were mature enough to handle such a thing, you wouldn’t have to put them out of your life.

So stand up for yourself by disengaging from people that harm you and Live Inspired Now!
