When you speak, say what you mean. Don’t tip toe around things, don’t be passive aggressive, if you have something to say, just say it! Also, avoid backhanded compliments, they don’t make people feel good, if you going to compliment, just pay the compliment without throwing in a negation. People like people who say what they mean and mean what they say! Kids especially need the “mean what you say” part. If you tell them there will be consequences for a certain behavior, be sure to follow through so they will know you mean what you say.
