Sometimes you need to be assertive! Sitting back and passively letting others decide things for you won’t serve you nor will taking aggressive actions that make others feel abused. Being assertive means self advocating and speaking up for what you need without hurting anyone. I see people all the time settle for what they don’t want. For example, you might get the wrong meal in a restaurant and you really don’t want it but you eat it anyway. Or you get over charged for something but are too timid to speak up. You don’t have to be mean or yell but you can assert yourself and let people know that you would like something to be changed or fixed. Kindly and confidently explaining that this is not the meal that you ordered and asking for the correct meal will allow you to get what you want and make you feel proud too because you took care of needs! Nobody should have to be afraid to speak up! YOU are your best advocate, only YOU know what you want and how to get it. So today, speak up for yourself in a kind yet assertive way and Live Inspired Now!
