Get interested in the things that other people are doing! Your friends, co-workers, kids, parents, your boss, or even potential friends all have something going on in their life, and how excited would they be if they knew someone else was taking an interest? Showing enthusiasm for other people makes them feel important, and cared for. How much would your relationships improve if you showed some enthusiasm for the people in your life?

photo(18)I just realized that I talk a lot about attitude on my Mom’s Musings board, but hey, with 5 teenagers in my home, I definitely know a lot about attitudes!!! It’s true…. we create our own reality. Two kids with the same upbringing may have 2 completely different opinions and attitudes about how they were raised. Two people diagnosed with the exact same disease will have different ways of handling it. Two people doing the same job and 1 will love it while the other hates it! How much of your own attitude has effected your reality?

Create your reality with as much positive attitude and intention as possible, choose happiness and joy, and Live Inspired Now!

yayThere is nothing more awesome than your significant other showing enthusiasm for you! Whenever I text Thad and tell him that I am on my way home from somewhere, he always responds with a “Yay!” Such a simple little thing but that “Yay” makes me feel so good! It tells me that he is excited for me to be back home, and that he looks forward to seeing me! ( Don’t worry, I also say “Yay” when he texts me too!  )

Does your partner know that you are excited to see them? Do you show your enthusiasm when you know they are returning home? Do you greet them with loving arms, a big hug, or a passionate kiss when they return? This is not reserved for just when they have gone away for long periods either… show some enthusiasm even when they are just coming home from work, or shopping, or from driving kids all over the planet. ( Can you tell I am playing taxi driver lately? ) How will your relationship improve if your partner feels loved, and desired?

One simple word that takes less than a couple of seconds to text or say, and it can make your lover feel completely loved, appreciated, and wanted. Say “YAY.” show your LOVE, enthusiasm, excitement, happiness, and Live Inspired Now! YAY!!!

Smalltimeline

This past Saturday, I was the keynote speaker at the New York State Future Business Leaders of America Conference at Cayuga Community College. My host read my intro which included my bio and at the end she told the crowd I was a “Zombie Slayer!” I added this in because that is what my speech was based on…. zombie slaying! We have all been a zombie at one time or another. A zombie is someone who goes through life, unaware or in denial of what’s going on around them, they are caught up in the hustle and bustle and forget to take time to actually enjoy life. We have all done this at one time or another. Many of us, me included, get lost in zombie life, even for an extended period of time, but we CAN come out of it!

So my talk was about finding your passion, and joy again. It was about how to slay the inner zombie and come back to life with happiness, love, excitement, and inspiration! Here are a couple of fun metaphors I gave the crowd!

When life gives you lemons…. you make lemonade. WRONG! If life only gave you lemons, that would be terrible lemonade. So go out and buy some more ingredients and research some recipes! You don’t ever have to settle for “what life gives you!”

It is what it is. WRONG! It is what you make it!

NO = failure. WRONG! No just means Next Opportunity, so get past the no, and move on to the next opportunity!

I had such an awesome time delivering my speech but I want you to know that I was nervous. I also want you to know that I don’t say “nervous” before my speeches, I say “excited!” The physical sensations of nervous and excited are exactly the same… so why not be excited? Doesn’t that feel better than being “nervous?” Try my little word trick next time you have to do something that makes YOU “excited!”

There is nothing you can’t accomplish if you have the desire, and the dedication to your dream/goal/purpose! I hope you will remember how amazing YOU are, how capable YOU are, and how much YOU have to offer to the world! Slay your own inner zombie, embrace life, and LIVE INSPIRED NOW!
