Keeping in mind that it’s always best to continue to use and maintain “buckets” during the storm to prevent further damage (rather than complaining about the storm or the damage it is causing).

P.S. If you’re keeping a tally of how many buckets you’ve emptied or how long this storm has lasted, you might as well be emptying your buckets on your brand new hardwood floors!

That’s quite true, whether it’s rain or snow. Fixing the roof under the pouring rain can leave you vulnerable to problems other than a leaky roof. It’s better to schedule work and repairs on bright days, making sure that there’s no bad weather coming your way.

Waiting for a sunny day to do roof repairs makes sense. For one thing, climbing the roof under the pouring rain is dangerous, in the sense that you are at a higher risk of slipping because of the wet roof. When it comes to safety, taking all necessary precaution should be the norm.

Roof repair is all about preparation and planning ahead. If you always check your roof for leaks and damages at least every month, then you can repair any damage just in time for the rainy season. That way, it’ll be more convenient and hassle-free to go up on the roof.

It’s only common sense that one should not step a foot on the roof when it’s raining. To avoid such, one should check the weather forecast on the day the roof is going to be installed.

I think the quote, “Rain or shine” is not applicable to roofing repairs. This says it all, folks. Never, ever perform a roof repair on a rainy day. Whether it is to be accomplished by a professional or not… DON’T. If your roof repair is already scheduled on a sudden rainy day, just postpone and reschedule the renovation. Slippery roofs might get roofers in danger, and rain water may worsen the condition of our roofs (if owners insist on doing it). Better safe than sorry guys, right?

It is indeed not advisable to repair a roof during the rainy season because it would only leave the roofing materials and the roof in a bad state, immediately taking weather damage as soon as installed. Roof repair is ideal during the summer, or to be honest, any other season except during the winter and storm seasons, as long as the surface would be dry wherein, it would make the roofer work better, and safer.

Repairs should be done just before the rain comes. It’s actually an advantage because you won’t have to worry about your roof’s condition while raining and when it’s over. Doing regular maintenance will save you from having to do regular, patch-up repairs, which, though they may seem cheap for the time-being, eventually adds up, making it more expensive than having to replace your roof.

Yeah. It’s always best to wait for a fairly good weather to do your roof repair. Repairing it while raining is like voluntarily exposing yourself to the misery of having to do it while wet, and being continuously battered by rain. Trust me, I know how that feels. Not only are wet roofs slippery, but also very dangerous. It pays to be patient and wait once the rain subsides, or better yet, do your repairs before the rain comes.

“When your relationship is in crisis, take a deep breath and wait for the storm to pass, THEN do the repairs…” – This is very insightful. And it is just logical to do the same with roof repairs. That is, if you want to finish successfully and safely. Accident risks are higher in a wet environment, thus, always choose a clear and sunny day before you get on top of your roof.

Aww. Your tile roof was not installed properly? What a waste of money! You should hire only the services of reliable roofing contractors, so you can be assured that your roof is in good hands. Anyway, it’s good that you have a new roof now, and it was installed properly too. Don’t forget to have it maintained and inspected regularly and always keep it clean.

I agree! Better grab the opportunity to repair the roof during sunny weather which will make the work easier and even faster since it’d be less dangerous, not to mention, a lot less of a hassle when working. This will also make sure that once the roof is installed, there’ll be enough time for the structure to rest before being tested by the elements.

rain with life’s personal issues! Kidding aside, that is a basic yet very important guideline to remember when conducting a house project, especially if it’s roof renovation.

This is very true – literally and figuratively! If you’re planning to fix your roof, consider the weather first. Feel the rain, but don’t go against it, as it may do more harm than good, to you and to the problem itself.

My mother always yelled at my father when the roof was leaking, “When are you going to fix the roof?” And my father would answer…”Foolish woman, you can’t repair the roof when it’s raining!” And the next sunny day my mother would yell at my father…”When are you going to fix the roof?” And my father would say…”Foolish women, the roofs not leaking, why fix it if it ain’t broke!”…..
