OMG. Don’t let anyone be the reason for YOUR happiness! Yup. You read that right.
That is TOO much power and responsibility to give away to another person.
I mean we all say it. I say it. “You make me happy.” or “You’re the reason for my happiness…..”
but really, the ONLY person responsible for your happiness… is YOU!
If you are the reason for someone’s happiness, then you’d also be the reason for their despair if you do something wrong. It’s actually unhealthy.
How ’bout we all just decide to make ourselves happy and attract people who do the same? Deal?
Life’s SO much more rewarding when you take complete responsibility for your feelings, behaviors, actions, thoughts, and life!
Now go have some FUN and show others by example how to love yourself fully and completely!

These special questions are designed to deepen your connection. All you do is sit quietly, without TV, phones, kids, etc and ask one another these questions and allow a conversation to happen!
You might be surprised by the answers and discover something new about your partner!

- If you could instantly get one artistic talent, what would it be? (painter, singer, etc..)
- If you could get paid to travel to one place for a year, where would you go?
- When you were young, did you trust your parents?
- If you could travel back in time, where and what year would you go to?
- What are you most afraid of losing in this world?
- Where do you feel most at peace in this world?
- What did you learn from your parents relationship?
- Tell me about the person you’re striving to become…
- If you could design the perfect day for us, what would it be?
- If you had to wear 1 outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- If you could live like a TV family, which family would you choose and why?
- What is your favorite adventure that we’ve been on?
- What should I never say to you, even when I’m angry?
- If you could learn the truth about one thing in the world, what would you want to know?
OK, now grab some tea and a throw blanket, curl up on the couch with your loved one and have some fun! (You don’t have to discuss all 20 questions at once.)
These questions are meant to deepen your connection by opening communication and giving one another a safe place to be vulnerable. Don’t blow it by being sarcastic, making fun, or doubting answers. Your job is to listen, talk when it’s your turn, and love!

Listen, if people don’t like how you talk about them in your story, then they should have behaved better!
I’ve said this statement at least 5 times in the past week so people must need this message!
You are NOT responsible for how your abuser feels, for how they think or behave, or for any consequences they experience as a result of you speaking your truth.
A big part of processing your painful experiences is to focus solely on how YOU feel about them.
Abusers like to use “guilt” to continue to control their victims: “Well if you tell this story, how will I ever get a job? I can’t get better if I can’t support myself. No one will believe you anyway…”
Let me define guilt because this too gets very twisted… guilt is a feeling of worry, or unhappiness that you feel when you’ve caused harm.
The ABUSER is the one who caused HARM yet they feel no guilt in trying to continue to manipulate you.
From this day forward, reserve your guilt for times when you actually cause harm…. like if you accidentally run into a person with your shopping cart and run over their toe.
Otherwise, you my friend, can tell your story without feeling any guilt, shame, or hesitation…. and when you do, you take your power back from the abuser!
***Abuse takes many forms… physical, mental, emotional, financial, sexual, psychological, etc. It’s any behavior or action that threatens, injures, manipulates or controls another person. If you think you might be in an abusive relationship, please seek help immediately.***
