83429084_180287326399817_2571008079546023936_nThad and I spent last week volunteering at the Isagenix conference and hanging with our friends who also attended.

Our dear friends Dave & Kate rented a big house with a pool and hot tub and invited friends to join them, and even had plenty of room out front for us to park our RV so we could stay and visit too!

One night, after a long day at the conference, we all sat in the hot tub and talked and laughed about our day.

Thad makes a joke about farting in the hot tub, which he didn’t actually do, and another friend says this…

”I’m so glad you said that…. I’ve been farting all day!”

To which I straight faced replied “He was just joking.” 😬

Everyone just fell out laughing! 😂 😆 😝

Although it was really funny, and the woman who said it wasn’t too embarrassed, it was nice to get in that vulnerable place with each other!

The conversation got deeper and more connected and everyone had a really great time!

Sometimes we just need someone to break the ice and make it OK for us to be real with one another…. and it doesn’t have to be with a fart joke.

Too much of life is polished for social media, curated perfectly to convey just the right message when what we really need is some good old-fashioned human connection!

I don’t know about everyone else, but that hot tub time was precious to me. ❤️

I admit that even when I’m not working- I’m working. My mind is trained to see opportunities so it was nice to shut my brain off and just laugh, connect, and love the people I was with!

If you’ve ever considered living in an RV or a tiny home, there are some things to consider that you may not have thought of…. I know I certainly didn’t!

Here are a few things that I’ve learned from living in the RV these past 4 months….

1 If you stop at a gas station to use the bathroom and they hand you a block of wood attached to a key and tell you it’s out back… don’t go. Just don’t. Gross.

2 When living in a small space…. DO NOT go to Homegoods, At Home, or Target without a list. And stick to the list because whatever it is… you DON’T need it. You really don’t. And it won’t fit anyway.

3 Water really is a precious commodity. We are truly blessed in this country to have running water available. When you live in an RV and have to fill your water tank, AND dump your grey water tank… you learn quickly to conserve.

4 When you flush the toilet, it’s gotta go somewhere. Lucky for me, Thad handles all the “dumping” of tanks, but seriously… what a blessing indoor plumbing is. ***This is why you learn to use the bathroom everywhere else so you don’t fill your own tank as quickly.*** (Did you know they call the tube used to drain the toilet tank a “stinky slinky?” lol. Gross!)

5 America is stunning and there is more to see than anyone would ever have time for. Go see as much as you can because it’s truly worth it. (My fav is still Mt. Rushmore.)

6 Ya better love the person you travel with because you are together in a small space all the time! If you’re not married to your BFF, you need to do some relationship work before venturing into a tiny home! How about a DIY Relationship Repair course for ONLY $7 at: http://diyrelationshiprepair.com (It WILL change your relationship!!!)

7 It’s hard to get deliveries when you have no address but many post offices offer “general delivery.” That means you can send a package to a post office and go there to pick it up. Just call the PO first to make sure they offer the free service.

8 Staying connected is super important. It can feel a little lonely when you are away from friends and family for an unknown amount of time. Remind your friends that you’ve moved, not moved ON and encourage them to reach out and say hello!

9 You really can work from anywhere! I am writing this in the RV somewhere in Virginia while Thad drives. Thank god for hot spots and wifi! If you want to learn more about becoming financially free enough to travel and work from anywhere, send me a message and let’s set up a free call!

10 You need more than yoga to be flexible! You’ve got to be willing to be flexible enough to change your mind about where you going or when you’ll arrive, and where you’re gonna sleep each night! Thank god for Cracker Barrels because they have designated RV spaces and allow overnight parking at all of their restaurants for free… and it’s way better than a Walmart parking lot- trust me!

Have you ever traveled in an RV or are you considering it? Do you have any great travel tips to share? I’d love to hear from you! Message me at my info below!

PR_492697Listen, if people don’t like how you talk about them in your story, then they should have behaved better!

I’ve said this statement at least 5 times in the past week so people must need this message!

You are NOT responsible for how your abuser feels, for how they think or behave, or for any consequences they experience as a result of you speaking your truth.

A big part of processing your painful experiences is to focus solely on how YOU feel about them.

Abusers like to use “guilt” to continue to control their victims: “Well if you tell this story, how will I ever get a job? I can’t get better if I can’t support myself. No one will believe you anyway…”

Let me define guilt because this too gets very twisted… guilt is a feeling of worry, or unhappiness that you feel when you’ve caused harm.

The ABUSER is the one who caused HARM yet they feel no guilt in trying to continue to manipulate you.

From this day forward, reserve your guilt for times when you actually cause harm…. like if you accidentally run into a person with your shopping cart and run over their toe.

Otherwise, you my friend, can tell your story without feeling any guilt, shame, or hesitation…. and when you do, you take your power back from the abuser!

***Abuse takes many forms… physical, mental, emotional, financial, sexual, psychological, etc. It’s any behavior or action that threatens, injures, manipulates or controls another person. If you think you might be in an abusive relationship, please seek help immediately.***

toxicDo you know what the lymphatic system of the body does?

It’s basically your body’s waste removal system and it only works on movement. So if you don’t move, it doesn’t move, then you get toxic because your body isn’t moving all the garbage out.

This is true with everything… relationships, family, business….

If your family is struggling, you HAVE to take action to get help otherwise the family becomes toxic and stops functioning… just like your lymphatic system.

Here are a few tips to get you into action so you can tackle family issues head on:

* Ask for help
* Read books by experts
* Have a family meeting and get input from all family members
* Come up with a plan WITH your kids
* Spend more time together doing activities that don’t involve screens
* Plan something together: vacation, daycation, celebration, etc
* Hire a coach: I am always happy to offer a free consultation! Send me a message now!

Whatever you decide to do, it will always be better than doing nothing! Even if it doesn’t work at least you know what not to do and can course correct.

There is NO possible way that you are the only one going through your specific challenge. It’s something that MANY people have struggled through. You are not alone. Don’t isolate yourself and ignore the problem.

Take my hand, let’s walk through it together!

With love, gratitude, and inspiration,

3 different clients made me say these words this week:

“You are NOT the mood police!”

This is one of the most prevalent challenges in our society today…. we feel the need to correct or fix the feelings of other people because we feel their bad mood is a reflection of us as a person.

Imagine this:

  1. Husband is in a cranky mood.
  2. Wife is irritated by husband’s cranky mood so she tries to make him feel happy.
  3. Husband doesn’t want to feel happy right now. He wants to be left alone to think for a bit.
  4. Wife gets even more irritated that husband won’t “snap out of it.”
  5. Wife feels rejected and becomes cranky.
  6. Husband and wife argue and it escalates from crankiness to anger and now they both retreat away from one another to stew in rejection and misery.
  7. Kids are now upset too because Mom and Dad are fighting again.
The End….. of their relationships if that happens enough!

It doesn’t have to be like this!

Imagine this instead:

  1. Husband is in a cranky mood.
  2. Wife asks if he’d like to talk about it.
  3. Husband says “No thank you, I’d prefer to have some time alone to stew.”
  4. Wife says “OK my love, take all the time you need.”
  5. Husband goes and has some alone time.
  6. Wife goes and plays with the kids.
  7. An hour later the husband emerges and thanks his wife for allowing him some time and they escalate into a supportive conversation about the days frustrations.
  8. Kids see a Mom and Dad lovingly supporting one another and feel happy and secure.
The End.

Other people are entitled to feel however they want to feel. It is not our job to constantly police moods, feelings, or emotions! And remember this…

Another persons emotions are NOT a reflection of you, your parenting, your relationship, your abilities, or your productivity! Your spouse does NOT love you because of what you provide. They love you because you are you!

What does this topic mean to you? Just hit reply to this email and let me know! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Heather Paris
