Have you heard of “Love Mapping?”

It’s a technique to learn more about your partner and can be done whether you’ve been together for 6 months or 20 years!

The idea is to answer the following questions about your partner, then share the answers. If you know the answers- great! If you don’t know the answers- even better because you learn something new and you get the opportunity to have a nice discussion!

Here are just 10 questions to go over with your spouse:

  1. Who is your partners greatest source of support besides you?
  2. What is your partners favorite sport?
  3. Who was your partners best friend in grade school?
  4. Name your partners major rival or enemy.
  5. Does your partner have a secret ambition, if so, what is it?
  6. What was your partners most embarrassing moment?
  7. Who is your partners least favorite relative?
  8. What was your partner most currently sad about?
  9. What medical concern does your partner worry about?
  10. Name 2 people that your partner admires.

Ahhh.. just when you thought you new everything about your partner! 🙂

You can always learn, grow, and fall more deeply in love if you will just invest time into your relationship!

Share a few magic moments today with your partner and see how you both do with these questions and please share your results or thoughts by leaving a comment below!

Wow wow wow!!!

I recommend books all the time, but THIS book… seriously, I almost unfriended someone over it! lol

The other day I told a friend, “If you don’t read Love Warrior, we can no longer be friends!” And although I wasn’t seriously going to unfriend her, I was serious about my passion for this book!

Love Warrior will transform your thinking, and inspire your soul! I hope you will read it, and I really hope you will let me know what you think of it too. Get Love Warrior on Amazon here.

The book you don’t read won’t help! -Jim Rohn

I am not going to tell you anything about the book itself. I want you to discover all the beauty, raw truth, and inspiration for yourself. But do let me know what you think!! 🙂

Have you already read the book? Be sure to share it with someone who could use it!

Love and Inspiration,

Heather

Why I said “No” to The Steve Harvey Show!

August 2, 2016 | Posted in General, Honesty, Personal Development, Professionals, Self-Esteem | By

harvey_capability

Yes, a producer from The Steve Harvey show called me today and inquired about having me on the show!!! AMAZING right!?

So why did I say “no?”

Just because a door opens, doesn’t mean you should jump at what’s behind it!

When I got the phone call from the producer, I was speaking at a charity event. I listened to the voicemail and was so excited and couldn’t wait to call back to get the scoop.

The producer told me that they wanted me, and my step-daughter to come on the show as guests for a step-mom / step-daughter segment. Now when she called, I thought she was calling to have me on as an expert who could give insight on the topic. I did write a best-selling book called “You’re Not My Real Mom” about step parenting after all!

I called my daughter Mattie and we talked about it. Mattie took a call from the producer as well. After some really personal questions, and what seemed like “digging for drama,” Mattie and I decided not to do it.

I’ve dreamed of being on that show, and I absolutely love Steve Harvey, but nothing is worth creating drama in my relationship with my kiddo, and nothing is worth my integrity.

I messaged the producer back and offered to come on the show alone, as a best-selling author and expert, who could provide valuable strategies to guests who are struggling in blended families. We will see what she says!

We’ve all been tempted to put up with something that doesn’t feel right because we want something so bad, but it’s just not worth your integrity. Opportunities are not “one and done,” there will be more!

Your dreams will come true when you stay true to your personal truth! (There’s alotta truth there!)

The best part of my day today…. speaking at the “Hope 4 Us” construction skills training course which trains people in construction, then helps them get jobs! Now THAT was a huge honor for me!

I hope you have a fantastic week and remember to think, act, and live abundantly because opportunities are always presenting themselves!

Love,

Heather

Stop saying “I’m sorry!”

May 31, 2016 | Posted in Communication, General, Honesty, Personal Development, Professionals | By

Have you seen the hashtag #sorrynotsorry (sorry not sorry?) What the hell does that mean? Are you sorry or are you not sorry?

Passive-aggressive communication has become so acceptable these days. Apologizing when you are not really sorry, or repeatedly apologizing just to make yourself feel better is not an apology.

If you say “I’m sorry” all the time, you might be an energy vampire, just sucking the life force from people.

Watch today’s short video in which I will offer something else you can say instead of the overused “I’m sorry” which doesn’t carry much meaning anymore.

Spread the love, and live inspired now!

Love,

Heather

How To Talk To Your Kids About Sex!

March 7, 2016 | Posted in Communication, Family, General, Honesty, Kids, Moms, Parenting | By

Have you had “the talk” with your kids yet? If you don’t… someone else will! And you don’t want that someone else to be a boy/girl friend with raging hormones!

I think the conversation about sex and our bodies needs to be started when kids are old enough to learn to speak. As little toddlers we teach them the names of our head, shoulders, knees, and toes, so don’t start referring to the other parts as bum bums and winkys. It’s OK to say the real words.

Penis and vagina are not bad words. However, if we make them “bad words” then kids think they are bad body parts, which leads to bad body image.

Watch today’s short video and let me know what you think about this topic! I look forward to your feedback!

There is an entire chapter in my book “Live Inspired Now” on this topic! If you need more help with parenting healthy and happy kids, please scroll down and check it out at the link below!

Watch it, share it, and live inspired now!

Heather
